Smoky Chipotle and Peri-Peri will launch exclusively into Tesco

Hilltop has unveiled a duo of hot honey condiments.

Smoky Chipotle and Peri-Peri will launch exclusively into Tesco in November (rsp: £2.75/350g), complete with a “disruptive” new label design.

They were “perfect for drizzling over pizza, chicken, tacos, or roasted vegetables”, Hilltop claimed.

The innovations build on the success of Hilltop’s original Hot Honey, which launched into Tesco in February 2024 and was the supermarket’s “number one best-performing honey NPD” of the year, according to Circana data [52 w/e 11 May 2025].

They were developed based on a Vypr survey of 490 Brits that found 82% of consumers would expect to find hot honey in the condiment aisle.

Meanwhile, the hot honey trend showed no signs of cooling off with videos tagged with ‘#hothoney’ amassing over 100 million views on TikTok over the past year, marking a 372% year-on-year increase, according to Hilltop.

“Customers are looking for bold, adventurous flavour experiences but don’t want to compromise on health,” said Hilltop founder Scott Davies.

“Our new range taps into both trends, brings excitement to the condiment category, showcases the versatility and natural properties of honey and, most importantly, attracts new younger shoppers,” Davies said.

It comes after Hilltop unveiled Hilltoppers, a quintet of trendy spreads (rsp: £2.75/225g) aimed at recruiting a “younger generation of honey lovers”, in March.

The range debuted with Sweet & Salty, Cocoa Honey, Chai Spiced, Whipped, and Pink.
