The Spice Tailor has expanded beyond Asian-inspired cuisine for the first time, unveiling a quintet of Mexican-inspired meal kits.
The range (rsp: £3/245g) comprises Smoky BBQ Fajita, Original Taco, Original Enchilada, Chipotle & Lime Burrito and Classic Fajita.
In line with the brand’s existing range, the kits contain three separate pouches, including a main cooking sauce, a complementary second sauce and whole spices.
The sauces were “cooked in small batches, with ingredients layered at each step like you would find in a restaurant, for a deeper, richer flavour” said The Spice Tailor.
In place of the cooking pastes found in The Spice Tailor’s Asian-inspired kits, the Mexican-inspired kits contain a salsa “that perfectly complements and elevates each dish”.
The Premier Foods-owned brand launched a quartet of Chinese-inspired meal kits last July, which it followed up with the rollout of Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese-inspired lines in November.
“The Spice Tailor’s launch into the Mexican category marks a major milestone for the brand, as we expand beyond Asian cuisine into a completely new world food for the first time,” said Premier Foods global marketing director of cooking sauces Andrey Sokirkin.
“With these five new kits, we’ve applied the same expertise that built our reputation in the Indian and pan-Asian categories to create restaurant-quality at-home meal propositions, where whole spices play a key role.
“This approach has supported our strong growth of 13.5% in the cooking sauces market,” Sokirkin added, citing Circana data [52 w/e 24 May 2025].
