Lindt has expanded its Dubai-style chocolate range, despite bars being reduced to clear in Tesco.
The Swiss giant has added White and 70% Cocoa versions of its Dubai-Style Pistachio & Kadayif tablet (rsp: £10/145g), which debuted to much fanfare in December. They are in selected Lindt stores and Online while stocks last.
Lindt’s milk chocolate Dubai-Style line was inspired by chocolatier Sarah Hamouda’s viral Can’t Get Knafeh Of It bar – which she sells via daily Deliveroo drops from her Dubai business Fix Dessert.
Sell-out success
Lindt’s version sold out within just five days of its UK release at the end of 2024, prompting a nationwide grocery rollout in March.
Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Tesco and Waitrose listed it over the spring, Waitrose imposing a two bar per shopper limit to manage high demand.
“We were overwhelmed with joy to see the reaction of fans… so we’re excited to expand the range further,” said Lindt master chocolatier Stefan Bruderer.
However, the latest launch comes after retail analyst Steve Dresser last week posted a photo to LinkedIn of a display of Lindt Dubai-Style bars “reduced to clear” at £5 in Tesco.
The grocery giant had listed the bar for a limited time only, The Grocer understands, and remaining stock has now been marked down.
The chocolate tablet is still available in Ocado and Waitrose but has disappeared from Sainsbury’s [Assosia 52 w/e 22 September 2025].
Grocery sales of the treat peaked in the four weeks to 19 April, when 77,242 bars went through tills at an average price of £9.61, contributing £742k [NIQ].
In the four weeks to 12 July, however, 18,841 bars were sold at an average price of £9.47.
An uptick in the four weeks to 6 September saw 36,537 bars go through tills as average price dropped to £7.31.
