Pieminister has recalled a swathe of pies that have been marked with an incorrect use-by date.
The recall concerns 10 pie SKUs made in Pieminister’s Bristol bakery last week. The products have been mistakenly labelled with a use-by date of 24 June 2026, rather than the correct use-by date of 24 June 2025.
The following pies marked with a use-by date of 24 June 2026 are therefore not safe to eat beyond their intended use-by of 24 June this year:
- Pieminister Moo: British Beef Steak & Craft Ale Pie 270g
- Pieminister Moo & Blue: British Beef Steak & Stilton Pie 270g
- Pieminister Kate & Sidney: British Beef Steak, Kidney & Craft Ale Pie 270g
- Pieminister Deer & Beer: Venison, Milk Stout, Mushroom & Thyme Pie 270g
- Pieminister Free Ranger: Free Range British Chicken & Ham Pie with Leek 270g
- Pieminister Fungi Chicken: Free Range British Chicken, Portobello & Chestnut Mushroom 270g
- Pieminister Wild Shroom: Portobello & Chestnut Mushroom Pie with Asparagus and White Wine 270g
- Pieminister Mooless Moo: Jackfruit ‘Steak’, Craft Ale & Black Pepper Pie 270g
- Pieminister Goat’s Cheese and Sweet Potato Filo Pie with Red Onion and Spinach 230g
- Pieminister Spinach and Feta Filo Pie with Kale, Lemon and Dill 230g
No other products or batches of these products are impacted.
In a point of sale notice issued to stockists, Pieminister said it would like to reassure its customers that the affected pies were “completely safe to eat” until 24 June this year. However, if shoppers prefer, they can contact Pieminister’s customer service team to return the incorrectly dated pies for a full refund.
Pieminister said it apologised for any inconvenience the issue had caused its customers, adding “we take this matter very seriously”.
“We are working closely with our technical teams and have implemented additional measures to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future,” it added.
