Pladis has continued to grow within the bagged snacks category, through the ongoing success of Jacob’s Mini Cheddars.

Jacob’s Mini Cheddars is now a Top 10 brand in crisps and bagged snacks and it’s also the fastest-growing brand in the Top 10, up 20% year on year, says chief marketing officer Asli Ozen Turhan.

“Bringing new flavours and formats to shoppers has enabled us to drive the incremental purchases fuelling this growth. We’ve launched NPD which appeals to younger adults and has made the brand more relevant in new eating occasions.” she says.

“Sharing formats now make up 16% of our total sales – up from 12% the year before, and 7% the year before that. These formats help shoppers consider Jacob’s Mini Cheddars as part of their evening snacking routine.

“We’ll now be putting even more focus on sharing bags and grab bags to make the most of the evening and on-the-go snacking opportunities.”
