The NPD is Forest Feast’s first co-branded fmcg launch

Forest Feast has teamed up with PerfectTed to launch chocolate almonds covered in matcha.

Matcha Chocolate Almonds is Forest Feast’s first co-branded fmcg launch. It consists of “hand-crafted almonds in white chocolate, blended with PerfectTed matcha”.

The NPD is to roll out in 120g (rsp: £3.95) and 40g packs (rsp: £1.45). The 120g format will launch exclusively in Sainsbury’s from 4 April, before rolling into Boots on 4 May.

Meanwhile, the 40g pack will debut in Tesco in Northern Ireland in May, before hitting stores in the rest of the UK in June.

Two-fifths of Gen Z shoppers were swapping tea and coffee for matcha, Forest Feast said, citing Ocado data. Its co-branded product therefore sat in the “perfect territory” to lure younger shoppers, it added.

The launch will be supported by a pop-up event in London, in-store media, sampling and social media.

“We’re always on the lookout for opportunities to translate exciting flavours and ingredients into crave-worthy innovation,” said Leona McCaugherty, head of marketing at Forest Feast. “Matcha isn’t just one of the fastest-growing flavours, it’s part of a broader cultural shift.”

Marisa Poster, co-founder of PerfectTed, added: “This partnership with Forest Feast is a big yes for us because it’s rooted in the same idea as PerfectTed: modern energy should feel good and so should modern snacking.

“Not chaotic, not artificial, not overcomplicated. Just great ingredients, great flavour, and something you actually want to come back to every day.”
