Heinz has launched a “softer and saucier” version of baked beans, specifically designed for toddlers.
Little Beanz, suitable for 18 months and up, feature tomato, carrot and butternut squash sauce with mashed and whole haricot beans and added iron.
Packaged in resealable, microwave-ready pots, the NPD is high in fibre and contains no added salt or sugar.
Intended as an accompaniment to little ones’ favourite meals, Little Beanz were “a great way to add hidden veggies”, said Heinz.
Little Beanz are already available in Tesco (rsp: £2/2x100g), and will roll into Asda on 16 June and Morrisons on 14 July.
While Heinz only officially launched the product via its social media channels yesterday, it appears to have been trialling the product with Tesco customers over recent weeks.
“I received this product in exchange for my honest review,” one consumer posted to Tesco’s website earlier this month.

“Overall, Heinz Little Beanz have been a hit in our household. They are a tasty, convenient, and nutritious option that toddlers enjoy, making mealtimes a little less stressful,” the reviewer added.
At the start of 2025, Heinz Baby took to its social media channels in search of tots to join its Picky Panel as official babyfood testers in exchange for £1,000 of free product.
Last month, Heinz was named in a BBC Panorama investigation on babyfood, which found some of its pouches to have a low nutritional value.
For instance, Heinz’s Sweet Potato, Chicken & Veggies 130g pouch was found by Panorama to contain just over 0.3mg of the 7.8mg of iron an infant needs in a day.
