Italian foods producer Sacla' is extending its game plan to take the brand into the pasta bake category. The company, best known for its range of stir-in pasta sauces, says it has identified a gap for a premium baking sauce, and has developed a range of four new offerings under a Pasta Gratinata banner. Four variants  Spinach & Gorgonzola; Sautéed Sweetcorn & Rocket; Tomato, Mushroom & Red Chilli; and Roasted Yellow Pepper & Smoked Garlic  debut on August 19, priced at £2.29 for a 430g jar. Wraparound sleeves will carry cooking and recipe information. A spokesman said: "Lifestyle research has shown that 45% of people are too tired in the evening to do much. "Our own research also gave further substance to the need for a new sauce for baking pasta. Current offerings notably lack authenticity." {{P&P }}
