Warburtons is rolling out its first-ever burger buns and hot dog rolls in time for the bank holiday and Royal Wedding.

The company said it expected to grow the £238m wrapped rolls category [Nielsen 52w/e 19 February 2011] with the launch of Warburtons Hot Dog Rolls, sliced from the top to make them easier to hold and fill; and Warburtons Seeded Burger Buns, topped with sesame seeds. Both are priced £1.15 for six-packs.

"With the Royal Wedding, a succession of bank holidays and a hot summer forecast, this is an ideal time to bring some news to the rolls market," said Warburtons marketing director Richard Hayes.l Kingsmill is launching an on-pack promotion next month to give consumers the chance to claim Wallace & Gromit collectables by redeeming tokens on promotional packs of the brand's bread, rolls, crumpets, muffins and pancakes.
