Investment in new technology and improvements to stores layout contributed to an almost 40% fall in profits at Roys of Wroxham.

Pre-tax profits fell to £661,432, while sales rose 5.6% to £51m in the year to 25 January 2014 in accounts filed at Companies House.

Roys said it was pleased with the initial level of trade at Highway Nurseries, which it acquired in February 2013. It also “continued to seek new opportunities.”
