Marks and Spencer’s fruit and vegetable growers will be taking to the stand this summer during the retailer’s £1m agricultural promotion campaign.
Paul Willgoss, head of agriculture, said the seven agricultural shows throughout the UK would continue to be ideal venues to meet an estimated 3,000 farmers and growers and a quarter of a million consumers.
The multiple will have a substantial presence at the Balmoral, Bath and West, Highland, Norfolk, Royal, Kent and Wales showgrounds, although it has dropped Cornwall and Lincoln from its programme.
There are also plans similar to last year to continue to enhance its image by recruiting suppliers to meet its customers in at least 25 of its major branches throughout the country.
Supplier links will continue to be strengthened by the development of its Farm Badge Scheme which already covers 100 producers, whose sites are identified and whose names and pictures appear on point of sale and packaging.
