Bains

South African grain whisky Bain’s has been given a makeover.

The Distell-owned tipple has been given a sleek new label with “enriched visual cues” highlighting that it is the only whisky in the world to be made from 100% South African grain. It was named the world’s best grain whisky at the World Whiskies Awards earlier this year.

The brand’s master blender, Andy Watts, has also had his signature added to the label to “pay tribute to his vision for crafting a single-grain whisky long before the category became a trend around the globe”.

Bain’s is currently available in online retailers and specialists such as London’s Berry Bros & Rudd (rsp: £35.95/70cl).

It comes as single-grain whiskies have surged in popularity over past years. UK take-home sales of single grains grew by almost a third (32.1%) to £12m over the past year, on volumes up 35.2% [Kantar Worldpanel 52 w/e 17 June 2018].
